Bring on the 'Horns

I was planning to listen to at least the start of USC-UCLA last night, but I fell asleep before kickoff (11:30 pm local time). Staying at a convent apparently does that to your social life. I woke up at about 2 am still in my clothes, with the lights on, and suddenly panicked: what if the game was close? So I stumbled outside, fired up the sat modem, took one look at the score, and fell back asleep within minutes.
There haven't been too many times this season that USC's allowed me to sleep easy, but last night the boys clearly meant business, coming up with one of the most one-sided wins in the history of the rivalry.
Rose Bowl tickets go on sale Tuesday for $175 and the small group of us who have been there for the last two championships are already making plans. I'm spending my holiday budget on a trip to Istanbul, and frankly I'm not even sure if I'll be able to get the game on TV here. But I've got four weeks to figure out how.
Either way, the college football universe has the championship matchup it hoped for, and for the second straight year the BCS didn't have a chance to muck things up. After the game, USC's Fred Matua said it best -- "The South is happy. The West is happy. Let's get it on."
