Going native!
Tomorrow I'm starting Swahili lessons with Odero, a Kenyan who teaches Swahili and French and speaks English with a British accent. Also, thanks to Tom, the car has been officially transferred to my name, so I now own assets in Kenya (as long as diesel exhaust is considered an "asset").
Therefore, my transformation from American to Kenyan is nearly complete. Expect the all-Swahili version of this blog to be up and running soon.
Several of you (including one lovely and talented Dr. V. B. Rao) have asked about Tom's sister. I wasn't in the office today when he came for his payment, and Eric said he came alone. So it seems my last bit of Kenyanization will have to wait.
